SB6141 firmware update

Can a Cox technician upgrade my SB6141 firmware to the latest version?  Mine is 1.6.0.12 and the latest version is 1.6.0.14. I seem to be getting slow download speeds and am hoping the new firmware may help. Thanks!

Where are you seeing the latest for Cox is 1.6.0.14? I ask because I have a SB6141 and its running 1.0.6.12 and no problems.

Model Name: SB6141
Vendor Name: Motorola
Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.12-SCM00-NOSH
Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(25CLK) 1.0.12.18m3
Hardware Version: 7.0

I updated the firmware however I don't really thing that's going to help.  I also fixed a service code issue with your account however I see indications that you have a legacy router attached to the modem you may also need to address to get full speeds.  I'd suggest testing without the router if you're still seeing slow speeds to determine if that is the case.

I see the new firmware on my cable modem. Thank you. I also received an email about an order confirmation and installation. Does this have to do with my service code issue you found?

As for my router, I have a Linksys E1000. Do I need to get a newer router as you suggested?

E1000 has 10/100Mbps ethernet ports, so if your looking for speeds higher then 100Mbps you need a new router. Another words, if you have Premier of Ultimate, probably need a new router to see the upgraded speeds.

ChrisL, I used the Cox speed test page and am now seeing download speeds of ~60MB. Thank you. I was only getting 30MB before. Maybe the firmware and/or the service code issue was causing my slowness. I don't know.
