My old vtech phone battery died after years. I bought a new set of phones from Sams--plugged them all in and charged---
Why is it saying "no line". I thought all we had to do was a plug a new phone into the wall phone socket. My phone modem is in the house. It is the same modem for internet services.
What else can I try?

Hi elk,
Are you connecting the new phones to the same phone sockets as the previous phones? The first thing I can recommend is to attempt resetting the phone modem (there should be a button on the back or a pinhole reset). Once the modem is back online, try the phones again.
