Random Email Failures Redux
Well I see that Cox has locked the original thread, but Dave J asked me whether this was an issue with both webmail and my email software. Yes, just like everyone else!
So far, Cox has not responded to my emails, has asked me a public question, and then has locked the topic before I could answer it. This is not my idea of good customer services.
Thank God I use a different email vendor for my solo law practice! I could be in serious trouble if I relied on Cox.

I was wondering why we could no longer post comments on the original thread! So Cox locked the forum? Now that's good Customer Service! I noticed the last comment on the forum was from Tiffany at Cox, saying they are aware and are working on the problem. That's not a good way to "close" a forum. The forum should be kept open and going, with continuous updates from Cox.
Per Tiffany's suggestion (at Cox), on the original thread that was locked, she suggested we send emails to cox.help@cox.net. I did just that and DID get a reply back from Ed at Cox (yesterday) regarding these late delivery of emails to WebMail.
Here is Ed's reply to me (copied and pasted):

Hi....
I apologize for the ongoing issues, there are issues currently relating to the migration going on that are effecting and delaying mail servers that our mail team is working on. Most have been seen with the Fed1 servers but it has effected some others as well. We do not have a ETR as of yet but if one is give you a update.

YES, THIS IS STILL UNRESOLVED AND THEY LOCKED THE THREAD ON US!!! I was looking to see if there was another thread for this topic and couldnt find it. So, I opted to follow everyone in the last forum thread and found you here. I CANT BELIEVE they locked the Thread. Thats ridiculous!!! I was trying to start another thread, but I see you already have...plus I couldnt seem to figure out how to begin a thread..LOL . Seems like in 2 weeks time, they could have solved this problem!!! COX, why did you lock the other FORUM called DELAYED EMAILS, when the problem wasnt solved yet?? It is a good sounding board for people, so they know they are not alone in their COX ISSUES. SO, Why did you lock the thread????? Tiffany, you were the last one on it, so why did you lock it? And also, why are we still not getting notifications, when others post to the thread?

If someone is new to this thread, you can go to the link below to read the previous 50+ comments on the original forum that has been locked (regarding emails being delivered late to WebMail).
Here's the original link for reference. There's a lot of information on the original forum link.

I sent an email to cox.help@cox.com again today, asking if they are any closer to resolving the delayed email issue, or what the current status is or any new updates.
My question to them was:
Is there any new information regarding this issue with the delayed incoming messages to the Fed1 servers?
Would like to know status as of today, please.
Also, would be good if someone (at Cox) can please post on the Cox Forum with an update.
Below is the Cox reply I received today (copied and pasted):

Hi ........
Thanks for asking, but no, we have no new update on when the issue will be resolved at this time. We appreciate your patience during this time.
Thanks,

What do the people that operate fed1rmimpo server have to say about all the delayed emails comming from them? Are there other servers that can be used? Is there a way to set up our Cox email, so that this server does not come into play? Since not all people are having this issue, like my husband for instance, there has to be something in the way our email is set up or processing? Why ours, and not everyones? There has to be a reason ?? Although, I set both of ours up over 17 years ago at the exact same time. What is your tech feeling on this? Thanks for your input.

I just had a thought. How many of us are using the PRIMARY email address on our accounts? Mine is the primary email address and my husbands is 2ndary. His email IS NOT having any delayed problems. To all on this forum and our original forum if you happen to see this one, please let us know whether the email address experiencing this problem, is the primary? Thanks

Yes, mine is my Primary, having the issues. My other 2, and hubby's are having no issues.
Good thinking on that, but.........looks like poster "grrrrrrr" is having problems not with is Primary.

To: Duopshebop,
The Cox person Carol probably won't reply here. Her posting here was an email she sent me that I copied and pasted from email, so she didn't actually post to this forum.
But perhaps Tiffany at Cox will?
Help, Tiffany...........any new status on the fed1 server problems?
Please keep us informed.

I was wondering why all of a sudden that thread was "locked." Ridiculous! In the back of my mind, I have been wondering if this was all because I canceled Cox TV service -- this all started happening a day or two later! ha ha I know that's not the reason, but you can't help but wonder at times! lol
I have told everyone I know (business relations, friends, family) to start using my yahoo email account... that one is working just fine! Every morning I wake up hoping for a resolution, but nope. Still waiting... albeit not very patiently!! Considering how much money we all pay to Cox, this has gone on long enough.

I'd still like to know why I am not getting posting notifications? Is anyone else getting them? I have book marked the link and just keep checking it. Ugh...really ???

I'm not getting notifications either. That's exactly what I did -- bookmark the link and keep checking every so often.

My father and I both have Cox. He had a problem yesterday not getting some emails in his desktop Outlook software that he uses. I was looking for any helpful info on the website and ran across this thread. I know they told me they would be migrating the old accounts to a new system in my area soon. Is this what the email delay problem is related to?

To: wdwobsessed:
Yes, this forum is about emails coming in delayed. Some don't come in at all, but the ones that do come in are being delivered many hours to even a day to 2 days after being sent by the sender.
Cox has said (after 2 plus weeks of many of us on the phone with them), that the problem is on Cox's end, and migration to new servers, and the servers having problems are their "fed1" servers (whatever that means!).
I think a few of us are in Arizona...............where are you located?
The "delayed email issue" is not with all email accounts. For example, I have 3 different email addresses with Cox, and my husband has one email address. Of the 4 email addresses, only one is experiencing the very late delivery to the Inbox. I had one that was just delivered to my Inbox (both to CoxWebmail and to Outlook), and it arrived 32 hours after it was sent.
If everyone on this forum sends and email to cox.help@cox.com, and lets them know they are having the "delayed email problem", that would be good.
On an older thread (that got locked), Tiffany @ Cox suggested on the forum that we send emails to cox.help@cox.com and alert them of the problem. When you send the email, give them your name, address, phone number, and the email address that is having the delay issue.
I have been communicating with Cox at that "help" email address, and I am getting replys back from them. No "fix" yet, but they say they are well aware of the issue, and it is an ongoing issue they are trying to resolve.
Everyone here, please send emails to cox.help@cox.com and you'll be added to their list of users with delayed email issues. Sounds like they have the problem narrowed down to "fed1" servers.
FYI, if anyone wants to see the "old thread" that got locked, here's the link. Lots of postings regarding the delayed email issue:
