Programs scheduled to record on Contour but aren't recorded

for the past two weeks, the two series we record are not being recorded. They are in the "scheduled to be recorded" list, but they aren't recorded. When I try to record while watching, it says 'technical difficulties'. Do I have to spend two hours on the phone with Cox to no avail? Is there a simple solution?
