Porting my home phone from cox to my sprint cell phone;
This has been a real headache, as I was moving and cancelled my cable ,and telephone and transferred my internet to my new. home address. I put in an order to cancel my cox service 2 weeks before the move. I informed the cox employee, that I wanted to port my home number to my sprint cell,Three days before my service was to be cancelled I gave my cell the needed cox info to port my number. Sprint told me to contact cox as there was a pending order on my phone and cox would have to remove the pending order. I spoke to someone in the porting dept and she said if I push the cancel order back 3 days that would resolve the issue then my number could be ported. Well surprise more misinformation from cox. We had a 3 way phone conversation with sprint cox and myself, they were going to remove the cancel order from the phone alone so that it could be ported. Surprise another do nothing ,know nothing employee. At this point I just want my phone service shut off as I am no longer residing at the address. I called cox again and told them that just cancel the service, now I am told that they cant cancel it as there is a porting order on my phone and that sprint has to remove it. So to sum it up sprint cant port because of the pending order and cox cant close my acct because of the porting order. Are they kidding!!!

The purpose of the Cox Phone Forum is to allow customers to discuss technical topics related to residential Cox Digital Telephone services with other customers. Since this is an account issue with porting your number, please reach us on Twitter at @CoxHelp, visit us on Facebook, or at cox.help@cox.com. I will be locking this thread.
