Out Look

I log into Out Look to get my cox mail. I can recieve but I can't sent out. I'm getting this message.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.west.cox.net', Server: 'smtp.west.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

My account is active, and I'm connecting to the internet.

thank you

The 0x800ccc0F error is normally a issue with communication with the program whether it is being blocked by some type of security or the server not responding. The servers you have set are considered older names though they can work. If you change the SMTP server to just smtp.cox.net without the west does it give the same error message?

First, I would reboot. Could have just been a update to your firewall that hasn't taken effect. Im guessing its the first time the computer has been on in a while?

Go into your email settings and make sure you don't have this box checked:

 click

Also, run a update on what ever anti-virus you use, then disable/enable the firewall. If your still having the issue, maybe try these steps. Good luck.
