One Call; Multiple Numbers

Anyone else noticing this?

My landline will ring (4 times before answering machine) and after I screen the caller ID, I won't answer.  I won't answer because it's a spoofed caller ID "from" a city/state where I wouldn't know anybody.  I'm sure you all get these.

My concern is the one call logs multiple callers in my Call History.  For example,

From...Seattle WA....206-424-8912...09/03/14...05:31 PM...Missed Call - Phone Busy
From...Private.......Private........09/03/14...05:31 PM...Missed Call - Phone Busy
From...Unavailable...1600...........09/03/14...05:31 PM

Notice the same times?  This has occurred three times this month.

Is this the latest trick to bypass any call-blocking feature, such as a "brute force" call?

Look through your Call History and if you're receiving multiple calls at the same time (hh:mm), you may notice this too.

While I can't tell for absolute certain this does sound a lot like scam/spam calls many of us have been receiving offering to help lower our credit card interest rates.  A better description of what I'm talking about along with some suggested actions you can take can be found here:

I'm not questioning if it's a scam call or a robo-dialer trolling for live numbers.  That's why I call screen.  I'm curious why one phone call would simultaneously log three different numbers on my Call History.

I don't have a good explanation for the timing however the caller ID info is likely being either altered or intentionally not provided.  With some VOIP providers this will show the phone number of the caller to be completely random.

I feel this discrepancy is with Cox because I'm experiencing other irregularities as well.  For example, the haunting Temporarily Off Air messages.  If I'm watching ESPNHD and change the channel to CMTHD, the Rovi banner will read CMTHD but the picture stays on ESPN.  After 15-20 seconds, I'll then get the Temporarily Off Air; Please Check Back Later message.

Some of my On-Demand channels don't work either.  I get a message reading, "Check back later for more exciting programming..." but that's as far as the menu gets.

Are you not getting my payments each month?

I have only seen this twice. I noticed it when i went into my Call History (Interactive Services) on my tv set.  The phone only rang one time.  The Call ID showed 2 calls at the same time.  Both times from telemarketers.

This was an early indicator of your current Call History problem.  You should have escalated to the proper department.
