Nightly Outages due to "Unicast Ranging Received Abort Response" & "DHCP RENEW WARNING - Field invalid in response v4"

This problems keeps coming and going.  My internet will work fine for a week in a row then all of a sudden, it will start to have daily outages.  Sometimes it will last a day, sometimes more.  Your tech has come out to my house to diagnose the problem in the past for the same issue.  They come and "fix it" but the problem always came back.  I have two tested working routers and just upgraded from a SB6121 to a SB6183.

Below are some pictures of my event log.

Right before the outage.  It caused my internet speed to go below 1Mbps.

Upon reboot:

Bunch of errors in the event log after the reboot:

This morning I woke up and it's back to normal but I keep having this problem during night time.  What is causing this?  I don't think it's my hardware since I have two routers and two modems but both are experiencing the same problem.

I looked from this end and the only thing that looks unusual is the modem is reporting a lot of power adjustments trying to maintain sync.  Do you have it connected to a power strip with a lot of other devices?  It may be worth trying to connect it to another power source and see if that works.

@Chris

It is connected to a power strip.  The other devices connected to this strip is a 8 port switch and a Synology NAS.

The last tech who came out for this issue removed the attenuator that was originally put on the line by the set up tech when I signed up for service.

I will try your suggestion tonight.

I saw another post today where a customer said he solved his problem by replacing the modem's  power supply.  I can't say this is what's happening in your case but the symptom I'm seeing is similar in nature.  Check back in with us if trying a different power outlet doesn't help.

I doubt it's the modem's power supply.  As mentioned, I upgraded from a sb6121 to a sb6183.  I use the power supply that is packaged with its respective modem.

It's not possible to say for sure either way from this end.  Note however that new doesn't necessarily mean not out of box defect.

Here is its status page when it's up and running:

When looking from this end the signal status levels all look to be good too however one metric you're not able to see in the modem status is the power flap count which appears may be an issue.  This is often a symptom of an electrical issue although signal can't be entirely ruled out.

@Chris. Thanks. I'll move the modem to a different location and see.

It's currently down. 3 of the 4 upload bonds are aborted.

I'd say it's probably time to have a technician come out and investigate further.

Every time that a tech has come out.  It was always a cox contractor.  I know because I ask and they tell me.  They usually just plug in their scan tool, unplug cables and that's about it.  Do these contractors have the same knowledge as the real cox technicians?

I ask because I showed a printout of my modem log and status page to the last contractor, and he couldn't make sense of it.

The technician's primary concern would be to look for any signal or equipment problems affecting the connection.  The modem details may be useful however they primarily rely on the data provided by their field diagnostic tools which go a bit deeper with regards to signal troubleshooting.
