New modem - not getting increased speeds
I finally upgraded my modem a couple weeks ago to a SB6121 to take advantage of the doubled speeds. I am still seeing pretty much what I was with my old 5101. I am testing from a wired desktop on a gigabit network.
Could someone please take a look at this for me?

hey chris, i have a question.....i have an old motorola surfboard SB5101U and am currently getting about 30mbps download speeds. i'm considering getting a new docsis 3.0 modem. my plan only allows 50mbps speeds but it seems like some people in this forum are reporting 60+mbps on this plan with the new modem. is that possible? not sure if i wanna shell out the cash to get less than twice the speed.

The SB5101U is DOCSIS 2.0 Modem and only has 1 Channel Downstream and 1 Channel Upstream
If you get the new Modem, make sure Cox also changes your account code from D2 to D3, otherwise you will not see any improvement in speed.
Upgrading to a DOCSIS 3.0 Modem will give you better consistency with your service and connectivity along with the Speed Increase. on a Preferred Package, you should consistently see 50Mbps Down and 5Mbps Up, with off-peak speeds perhaps in the 60Mbps range.
