New firmware for SB6190 - 9.1.93N (Latency fix)
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30514011-Ping-spikes-DG2470-SB6190-Requesting-metrics-for-troubleshooting~start=90
Any idea when Cox will roll out firmware 9.1.93N for SB6190? It's in comcast hands already. It fixes a latency issue lan side for the arris SB6190 modem.

I checked from our end and I'm not showing this firmware as having been made available/approved for our network yet.

I too have been wondering about this firmware update, the latency spikes I randomly get in games is annoying as ***. Please make it available ASAP!

Do the latency spikes only effect ICMP or TCP/UDP too? I thought it just effected testing. I was thinking of buying a SB6190 but this gives me pause. I don't have one, so can't request myself , but FYI I think DSLR user Odog runs firmware development.

I'll be honest - I don't know. I just know that in D3 my ping will randomly jump up to over 300+ms, and BF Hardline on the PS4 will randomly become jumpy/jittery, not sure if that's really the same problem though, as the PS4 isn't hardwired to my 6190.

That answers the question. Guess I will get the 16x4 phone modem(TM602). Thanks for saving me the headache. Can anyone PM odog and ask for ETR?

Tempest261 over at DSLReports did a test using PingPlotter Pro with TCP packets via HTTP w/ WinPcap4.1.3
After pinging the cable modem and then Twitter, his results look like this:
DELTAS:
Cable Modem test:
SB6190 has +5.73ms over the SB6183.
SB6190 has 4ms of jitter. SB6183 has 0ms of jitter.
Twitter test:
SB6190 has +7.93ms over the SB6183
SB6190 has 7ms of jitter. SB6183 has 2ms of jitter.
His post (w/ graphs) is located here.
I'm a huge gamer and I've experienced the same issues as chris_c21 when playing D3, Reach, ARK and Neverwinter. Did not experience this with my old modem.

Has anyone tried calling up and talking to Tier 2? As per DSLR, they are testing it, so that means it's probably available through manual push. The hard part is finding someone who will push a non-confirmed firmware over the phone. However, if anyone wants to be a early adopter, can't hurt to ask.

Odog got back to me, said he would PM me again when he would be able to push it to me.

Yeah, I'm the one who started the thread over there after reading comcast already had it being pushed to their modems.
