What kind of router do you have and where did you buy it?

And if your looking for direct support, kind of not the right place. We are customers here just like you. We will try to help though. How exactly is it not working? Wireless won't connect? Nothing will connect? Won't power on? Etc

Try a direct connection from the modem to the computer, make sure your modem is working. From the info you gave, I would think about replacing the router. At least turn everything off and back on. You probably won't get a lot of help from Cox on a 4 year old router, probably not any if it's a separate router and not built in to a cox approved modem/router unit.

Open your browser and type in this 192.168.1.1    Then a window should open up your user name is: admin       Your password is :password       After you have done this you are in your netgear router and will be able to look for a button at the bottom that says firmware update, Click on that and see if it works. Hope this helps sometimes a router just needs to be updated to the latest firmware. Cox is advertising updating their internet speeds so perhaps they are using IPv.6 and your router my not have that abiilty or needs it's firmware updated. If nothing else you may want to upgrade your router to obtain the most of the internet speeds you are paying for. Try the Netgear N600 WND 3700 on amazon. It's not expensive for what you get and you will have true dual band internet with a guest network for under 100 dollars. It works fine with Cox. Also if you have an older cable modem you might consider upgrading to a docis 3 cable modem. Hope this helps.
