Looks like IPv6 is coming to Phoenix over the next 4 weeks. I just rebuilt my router after the last one trashed its file system. It lasted 6+ years. I doubt my current modem (SB5120), which I've had for 9+ years will work with IPv6. So that brings me to my question: Can I purchase a SB6190 on Amazon and use that? I do not need the extra speed but I would like to be able increase the speed later without getting another modem. After I get the modem, I believe I have to call tech support with the modem info.
Is there more info on the IPv6 roll-out for Phoenix other than it will be happening next month?

The 6190 is approved for our network. In most cases you can just connect the modem and try to go online. You'll be redirected to a form you can use to self-register the device to your account. IPv6 has already started deploying to several markets with many more to follow in the coming months.

I was just told by a customer service representatives that it is not approved for Cox internet service. I live in Mesa, AZ. The modem seems to connect up just fine, but when I get to the activation page the SB6190 model does not appear in the pull down menu, so I called customer service and got told it was not approved.
I have just send an e-mail to customer support, because the only reason I bought that modem was that it appeared on the Cox recommended DOCSIS3.0 modems webpage (http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=b2ec95d0-7ef9-11df-5590-000000000000).
I am confused and left with flaky internet service as my SB6121 has started to randomly drop the connection...

We can provision the SB6190 to the account and investigate the account for why we would suggest otherwise. You may email us at cox.help@cox.com with the account information and a copy of this Forums link, so we can continue to assist in this concern.

I looked at your modem an it appears it's already active on your connected device.
