Need service Moved

Any service techs want to help me move my service? Kind of a complex situation I need.

Moving to girlfriends house. I'm going to take over the her internet service and transfer to my name, but also transfer existing service to my brothers name. We all require internet for school and wish to have minimal service interruptions.

1. Currently at existing residence, I have 100mbps service; modem owned.

2. New residence has like 10mbps (or something around that speed); modem owned.

Want to remove service from existing residence and setup new service (50mpbs or 100mbps) into brothers name; modem/wifi router needed.

I would like to cancel internet service currently at new residence (currently in girlfriends name) and take my current modem and install new 100mbps service in my name; equipment not needed.

Everyone has agreed so there is no issue there and I can have the individuals talk to the customer service if needed. I'd like to do this on Friday 4/25 which is my day off. If it is possible, give me a call or send me an email and I'll get back to you.

Thanks!

Sounds pretty straight forward actually. The main thing is to make sure everyone is everyone is listed on each account as a authorized user, that way there is no issue transferring the equipment between the different account. The hardest part is to get it done in the shortest amount of time with as littler interruption and the technicians not stepping on each other toes. Some questions:\

1. Do you just have and want internet services at the two locations? No cable?

2. Do you need/want a professional install of modem/router of the service under your brothers name?

3. Are there any email address? Mcafee Antivirus? Online back up accounts?

Hi Health,

Here are the answers to your questions. Also, it doesn't matter to me if only one technician does the install and we start at the old residence and then move over to the new residence. That would actually be better since I'm the only one who will be home I believe to let the technician in the house. I would just like it done in one day is all; if possible.

Yes, I only want internet services. There is currently no cable service and it is not needed.

There is no need for a professional install of the modem/router for the service under my brothers name. I can install myself if given the hardware.

There are no email address, antivirus or online back up accounts.

Thats pretty easy then. Since each place already has Cox service, the transfers should be able to be done without a technician.

First you and your girlfriend would want to call Cox and set up a closure of your girlfriends account at the new house, and a transfer of your account from the old house to the new house. That would set a certian date in the computer to cancel your old account and create a new account at the new address. Then your brother should call up and set self install for Premium with a home gateway. He could order Ultimate, but I think Cox currently requires a professional install for that and I then it might have to be a Home network install since it would be a gateway. Another words it would complicate things.

After that they would need to transfer your modem from your old account to new account, unless you wanted to use your girlfriends modem. Then it would need to be tranfered from her (now pending disconnection) account to your new account.

In the end I would suggest confirming this with your local Sales department before the fact, just in case there are local procedures I don't know about.
