Movie Ratings and Closed Caption

I admit that having more storage space and the ability to record more than 3 shows at one time is a boon.  BUT, it seems like it comes at a price and we do not like it.  First, the Movie Ratings are gone.  What? Also, the closed caption on the remote does not work.  We have to go through a 3-4 step process to actually turn it on.  I've seen other comments in the TV Forum from other Customers who feel the same way.  We know this capability exists because it existed in the older system.  So get Cisco / Contour / Cox, whoever, to implement these fixes right away.  Take a step forward and then a step back.  We are in the same place.  Lacking service.

I was visiting my brother in Las Vegas and he had Direct TV.  Whoa.  Nice.

Hi Kingbingo1,

The issue with the CC button on the remote has been reported and should be addressed in a future software update. I agree-- the CC button seems like such a simple function--and I apologize that it is not currently working.  In the meantime, the Closed Caption function can be activated through the Contour main menu using the steps below. The CC setting is specific to each receiver.

  1. Press the MENU button on the remote control.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN arrow to highlight Closed Captioning.
  3. Press the RIGHT arrow or SELECT button to launch the Closed Captioning Menu.
  4. With the highlight bar on Closed Captioning Status, press the RIGHT arrow or SELECT to move the highlight bar to the options in the center card.
  5. Use the UP or DOWN arrow to highlight On. Press SELECT.
  6. Press the LEFT arrow to return to the Closed Captioning Menu or press EXIT to return to live television.

I hope this helps!
