I purchased a new TV and connected my minibox. The entire screen is purple and no audio. If I unplug the HDMI cable and re-plug into the minibox, the picture and audio return to normal. How do I fix permanently?

First, how do you have the mini box connected to your TV? Any sound bar or entertainment system?
Second, what model TV do you have? Hopefully it is HDCP compatible.
Last, do you have another HDMI cable you can try with? Also another HDMI port?

Once you have the picture and audio working, when does the purple screen return?

Do you have an alternate connection such as another HDMI cord or an additional coax cable to connect to see if the problem persists?

Do you have something that uses HDMI to test with? And yes, the TV needs to be HDCP compatible, but unless it's a very old HD-draft type Samsung, it probably is.
Also, you may want to try a new mini box. Could be a bad HDMI chip.
Last, try to look for a model number if possible. It will be on the manual if you have that. What I am looking for is the TV's native resolution and see if there are any HDMI settings which might be tweaked.

Try using the 2nd HDMI port on the side of the TV. The first one uses ARC, would could be causing a problem. Or, you could try disabling ARC and CEC in the TV options. See page 44 of manual for instructions.

It could be a HDCP negotiation issue (copy protection). Try some swaptronics.
Since you have another HDTV, try the mini-box on the Samsung. Try another HD source, Blu ray, Roku, etc, on the Vizio. If the Vizio repeats the problem, ensure it has the latest firmware updates. Contact Vizio for solution, warranty or exchange. If the mini-box repeats the problem, swap it out at a Service Center.
