Microsoft Outlook outgoing email is blocked

I just signed up for Cox and really frustrated with the lack of customer service in resolving this issue.  I cannot send mail from either my sbcglobal.net account nor my mac.com account when I use Outllook for Mac.

I would really like to get the actual smtp server settings for my email accounts.  I have tried all the cox recommends, port 587, deleting and adding the account, etc.

COx's ISP is clearly blocking the emails going out.  Outlook works at the office and at Starbucks but not at home..

Hi mpierce92694,

I am sorry you are having so much trouble sending email. Our outgoing email server is smtp.cox.net, the port you would use is 25. If you have any authentication or SSL enabled for the outgoing server you would need to turn that off. The only time you would use 587 is if you are authenticating and that would require you to have a Cox.net username and password to do so.
