I keep getting messages that McAfee will not work with edge. Will they be fixing this problem or is there another virus scanner I can get from Cox?

Problem with Edge is it no longer has alot of the backwards compatibility that Internet Explorer had. See article here for more info. This makes it faster(maybe) but can cause problems with certain applications. Only way Cox can get it to work with Edge is if Mcafee writes a special version for it. Since the version you get from Cox is a discounted license, this is unlikely.
As for other programs, while not from Cox, I like Avast and Avira. Windows 10 comes with Defender, and while much better then WIN8.1 Defender, it is still has pretty bad detection scores compared to others. Either way, if you don't use it, make sure to turn it off. Also, a Antivirus is best for keeping you from getting a infection, you still need something to scan for infections you may already have. Active vs Passive. For that I suggest Malwarebytes. Finally, and most importantly, make sure your PC is up to date. You don't need to make Windows updater automatic, but make sure you run it at-least once a week. A secure computer is as, if not more, important then a protected computer.
