Hi, I have tried just about everything I can think of to figure out why my computer if left on 2-3 days allowing it to sleep and wake that my internet connection slows to 6-8Mbps down and 2-3Mbps up. Once I reboot I get my normal 50-60 down and 6-8 up. This is a wired connection and doesn't affect any other computers are connections in my house. I have tried to replicate the issue with my laptop and speedtest.net and cox's tool always show good up and down speeds. I do also notice at times that my RAM memory will get close to max (16gb) and that may be related. If I close programs it should free up RAM and it does not. Not sure if either of these causes the other problems but this has become a nusance. Can anyone help troubleshoot this problem? Thank you.

I think this is a bit out of scope for this forum. Your having a PC issue, this forum is to troubleshoot ISP issues.Unknown RAM use has nothing to do with internet. I would suggest having a computer technician look at your PC. Almost sounds like you might have some malware. Or some background application with a memory leak. I can't think of any way of helping though with the information you gave.

There may be other message boards or Forums that would be able to better assist you. You might need a professional. Take a look at Cox Tech Solutions at www.cox.com/residential/internet/tech-solutions.html. You probably have local PC experts who offer technical support, so I encourage you to research your options. Good luck!
