Today a technician showed up to bury the cable drop to my house. Internet was working fine when they got here and I now have no connection to my modem. I am told I have to wait until Friday for another tech to come out. I work from home and cannot wait that long. The techs were also burying my next door neighbors cable drop as we'll. Is it possible the cables were swapped in the junction box? Is there anything that can be checked remotely? This is BS!

Swapping the cables would have no effect, but damaging them while being buried (highly likely) or them forgetting to connect one of the ends if they had to disconnect for one reason or another, would take you completely offline.
