Internet dropping

Hello,

Over the last few weeks my internet has started dropping out periodically, and I've been having trouble streaming video.  The router ends up rebooting frequently.  I've included the router (SB6120) logs and signal levels.  I've had this trouble in the past and it has eventually gone away, but it has recently started again and its become frequent enough to cause significant frustration.  Is there anything we can do to resolve this?

Thanks!

It appears your upstream signal levels are out of specification on the low end.  Do the lines to the modem pass through any sort of amplier that may be installed?

No, there's a single splitter between the service connection point and the modem.  I've tried removing that as well and the values don't change.

It may be beneficial at this point to arrange for a technician to come out and take a look at those signals to see if anything else can be done to improve them.

I tried switching to a different modem I had and the problem continues.  The logging on this modem is not as detailed (kind of annoying since its locked down choice by the ISP).  The upstream and downstream power levels seem to fluctuate widely during the periods when loss of connectivity happens.  Generally between about 4pm and 11am the connection will drop every few minutes.  Sometimes it will last 30 minutes or so and then fail.  When it fails, one or more of the upstream channels will drop to 0dBmv and stay there, then a few minutes later another will drop.  Once all of them have failed the connection is obviously not working and the modem will eventually reboot and start the process all over again.

I've tried connecting the modem directly to the service entry point and that doesn't solve the problem.  Can we setup a service visit through the site to have someone come out and resolve this.  The problem has been happening for months on multiple different modems and I'm about ready to switch to another service with how frustrating this is getting.

Here's a random signal reading sample from this modem:

You've still got one upstream channel showing abnormally low levels, especially relative to the others.  Did you ever have somebody come out and look at that?
