Good to you all! I am curious about why the internet has been dropping at my rental house. It is the bundle deal with the 25MB UP and 5 MB DOWN and the TV stuff. I am in central Tucson, AZ and the internet has completely dropped 3 times in the last month. Has there been a problem at COX? I want to check this before I try to look for the issue at my place. The router/modem (Motorola Surfboard SBG6580) hasn't moved or is being moved when it completely drops. It has the splitter on the COAX cable but none of those cables are being moved or moving at the time of the drop. Both receive connection from COX normally just fine. It's just the internet drops completely without warning.

When the connection drops, are the lights on the cable modem going out? Is there any type of error message displayed in regards to the connection? Are the devices wireless? I'd need to know if any are hard wired and if that device is affected also.

experiencing the same thing (Chandler,AZ)
4 drops, 1 of them the big drop 2 weeks ago where most of Cox was down. Another one just today, which I noticed while at work, but only got around to dealing with around 3:30/40ish this afternoon.
But aside from that a few times now now I've had to call the automated service to reset my modem (SB6121). Lights are all active on the modem... it looks like it's connected - but no internet on wired devices through my router (Cisco EA6500).
Resetting the modem/router myself doesn't get the internet up and running, I have to use the automated service for Cox to initiate the reset, and once it's done the deed everything works.. Looks like something is sticking on the Cox side :(

I'll save you some time and let you know what these customer support idiots are going to tell you.
Reboot modem, reboot router, run direct from modem, blah blah blah
Doesn't matter what you do, their service ** now and they won't fix it. Best to move to another ISP if you have that option. The customer support at Cox has went to sh*t the past month because they don't have a f*cking clue how to fix their broken sh*t. ;)
