I want to buy Wifi router

Thanks to Cox, I am using internet very well. I have broght Wifi Router from Korea and I am using it to use intenet, but the speed is getting lower and lower. When the technician visited my home to install Cox Internet and Phone. He said I had better buy new Wife Router if the speed is getting low. So I want to buy new Wifi Router. What model and product can you recommend? Please recommend the most suitable model for Cox Internet. Thank you. Gwang Jong Han

There is no "most suitable" model for Cox internet. It would be like asking what TV or phone works best with Cox. It depends on what you need. Some things to know; how big is your house, how much do you want to spend, do you need Wifi AC, and if you need any other special features.

If you just want a blind suggestion, go with the Asus RT-N66U.

From your post, I assume Cox installed a phone modem, not a gateway (modem with built-in router).  If that's correct, any router will work, Cox doesn't have a list of approved stand-a-lone routers.  You want to select a router with gigabit Ethernet.  Also, a router supporting 802.11ac will future-proof your investment a little if your budget can handle it.  Good choices are the Netgear Nighthawk series like the R7000 and ASUS like the RT-N66U if you don't need ac and budget is a concern.  Also the ASUS RT-AC66U or AC68U which are more expensive but support wireless ac.  Any of these should perform very well for you.
