The Cox residential network is dynamic; so as long as you unplug the modem while changing out the router, the router should automatically pull an IP from the modem. Please refer to your new router's setup instructions for additional instruction.
Are you talking about the routers internal IP address or the external IP address Cox assigns? If it is the external address, ColleenD is correct. The internal address, the address you navigate to in order to sign on to the router, it should be in the documentation you received with the router as well as default ID and password.
If you are actually looking for an "I e p" address, I have no idea.
