How can I get my Contour box to quit unpausing itself?

If I'm watching a TV show (live, recorded, or on demand), and I pause it for more than a certain amount of time (I haven't yet timed it, but I can if this information is needed), it will unpause itself and go back to live TV.  This is especially frustrating when I pause a program I'm watching on demand, and when I go back to continue watching, I'm forced to start back at the beginning without the ability to fast forward.

Is there any fix for this?  Has anyone else experienced it?
