Good day, all.
I won't pretend to be a UI engineer, but from a user perspective I find the guide and on demand menus unfortunate to navigate through.
I would like to see an option to "hide unsubscribed channels", rather than a time consuming manual entry of skipped channels or favorites channels. I barely know what channels I have, let alone what I don't have. This would provide me with a concise, uncluttered guide. I'm willing to bet this was a conscious sales/marketing decision not to implement.
I would also like to see an option to hide duplicate SD channels. Again providing users with a cleaner, easier to manage guide.
On demand is a mess. Same principle. An option to show only the on demand available through subscriptions would be nice.

Domino,
That maybe the silliest response possible. Of course, the guide doesn't have sentience and intrinsic knowledge of what I subscribe to. However, with other providers (directv, dish), users can choose to sort their guide's channels by content users subscribe to based off their account provisions. So in a way, yes, a guide does "know" what I subscribe to. Specifically, when I try to turn to a channel I don't pay for. Thank you for your time.

Thats because with DTV and Satellite in general, there is a actual card or chip in each box that DOES know what channels you get. All the cablebox knows is channel mapping and encrypt flags, which isn't the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I wish/hope they could find some way of doing it, but I think thats why its not that way by default.
As a work around, you can set a favorite lists, and then on most cable boxes, you can set the guide to only show those favorites. Its a pain, but just throwing it out there.

Apples and oranges. There are vast differences between DBS and Cox in terms of signal encryption, authorization, and channel mapping. You think that you're the first person to ask for such a system on Cox? I had a discussion with a TWC engineer about this two years ago. (I was not quite as brash as you in my discussion.)
