HD channels Not Working

Hello,

I am wondering why some of my HD channels work but others say that they are temporarily off air.  Does anyone out there know what is going on?  Thanks for the help.

Hi Christopher,

The "Temporarily off Air" error message is generic. This could indicate that the cable receiver is out of sync with our network and needs to be reset or it can indicate a possible signal issue. I recommend checking all of the cable connections to the cable box ensuring that they are finger-tight. Reset the cable box by unplugging the power for about 1 minute and then plug it back in. Give the cable box 3-5 minutes to go through the reset process. If you still have channels that aren't working correctly, please email the team at cox.help@cox.com with your full service address so that we can take a closer look into this issue.

Renee,

All the connections have been checked and are sufficiently tight. The issue is my service was working fine until there was a power outage and it fried my DVR.  I went to the Cox service center and picked up a new DVR and my channels haven’t been working correctly since. The DVR failed to record the programs I had set to record, one of the programs being the NFC Wildcard game.  These issues are not my fault and I want to know what can be done about it before I miss out on something else I want to record.

Hi Christopher Patton,

In you DVR list, if you hit the yellow triangle with the letter A, you should see an option that reads Lost & Found. Can you tell me what reason it gives for not recording the show?

I had this same problem.  None of the channels in my sports pack worked.  I unplugged my cable box and let it sit for a couple minutes then all the channels worked after plugging it back in.  It solved my problem and hope it helps others.  Thanks ReneeG.
