Gaming connectivity to SOE servers

As an avid gamer, I play an assortment of online games when I have the time and for the most part, have no issues - except when it comes to SOE (Sony) server connectivity.

Speaking with an engineer in the past from Cox, I am told it is an issue wtih Cox and Sony ISPs basically 'not getting along' in terms of connectivity.

Weill there ever be a fix in place to alleviate these types of connectivity issues?

I'm not looking for the 'we strive to maintain quality internet... ' blah blah canned response.  I am actually looking forward to a true reply to the issue.

Thanks.

Hi ChrisL!

When connecting, ping time to the servers at the character screen show a great ping time anywhere from 40-60ms.  However, once in game, the latency is absolutely horrid, and pings will go from 400ms up to over 2000ms, and then just sit and bounce back and forth from 600-2000ms.   So, there is a lot of 'warping' of players, vehicles, and makes it impossible to play any longer.

We switched from AT&T U-Verse, as we had limited speeds of only 3d/1u due to the age of the equipment in our neighborhood, but I could at least play PS2 with no issues whatsoever and maintain a 40-60ms ping time the entire time playing.  Since having this service with Cox, the game for me has been completely unplayable.  I also play other similar games online, SWTOR, FF XIV, and have had great experiences online with no issues.  Our only issues are wtih any SOE online gaming.

What Playstation models are you trying to use?  PS4/PS3 etc?
