I just changed over from DVR's to Cox Contour, and am a little frustrated because even though there are a lot of new advances, there are many features that were used on my DVR that no longer are possible on Contour. For example I have gone through the laborious process of setting my favorite channels. However, when I go to the Guide in Grid format it shows all the channels. If I choose the option to list only favorites in the Guide settings, it will only do it in the List format. Cox needs to fix this so that you can list your favorite channels in the Grid format when using the Guide.

Cox doesn't need to fix it. You have to set it up. Go to SETTINGS -> CHANNELS -> SET SKIPPED CHANNELS . The channels that you select to skip will not be seen in any guide view.
BTW, Contour is simply the IPG used on many of Cox's DVR's. You're still using a DVR.

Thanks for that info! I will give that a try.
However, I disagree with you about Cox not needing to fix this. It used to be just a matter of setting favorites and that was it. Now It looks like I have to create a different list, basically an "unfavorites" list, and that's a lot of channels. Additionally I guess I will have to go back and write down everything I put as favorites so I don't inadvertently put one down as a skipped channel. And if I create a skipped list, does that mean I can't go back and check the guide to see what's on every channel now and then?
All in all, a lot of work on the customer's part due to poor programming. If I am making this harder than it should be someone let me know!

That's why Cox includes it all. They want you to see what's on the "Humpback Whale Channel" next week so you'll subscribe to that package.
Simply create a User named something like "ALL." When you change to that user, all of the channels will appear in the guide.
