ESPN3 not going to highest quality
I have the preferred internet service with a docsis 3.0 modem and get advertised rates on the speedtest. I've noticed that ESPN3 replays will not go up to the highest quality. This has not always been the case, but started relatively recently (within the last few months). I contacted ESPN and they claim to have no restrictions on either live or replay streams. It seems absurd to ask, but does anyone else notice this or does COX rate limit ESPN3? Here is a sample stream that will not go beyond half quality: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/player/_/id/2672915/
Any help would be appreciated

Well looking around on google, it doesn't just seem to be a Cox issue. From what I can tell, it seems to be the quality of the free stream ESPN gives it's providers. For example, many people say the ESPN2 feed will be better then the ESPN3 feed, because ESPN2 is direct to servers, while ESPN3 has to go through Cox. It makes sense that they would allocate a higher bandwidth stream to those people paying for the service.
When you called ESPN, did they report anyone else having the problem? I suspect it's a common complaint and they are trying to beat around the bush.
