I had this same issue two days ago; unplugged the dvr, waited 5 minutes, then plugged back in to let the system reboot. Once it had gone through getting info back, the guide was repopulated. It took some time for the guide data to repopulate, so don't get in a big hurry ( I waited probably an hour before checking back)

Since the Guide requires two-way communication with our network, it can get out of sync from time to time. The steps that Khintul provided are exactly where we start! (Thank you, Khintul!)
The other way to force the cable box to reload Guide data is to hold down the Guide button on the front of the receiver until the display shows "READ." Once "READ" is displayed, let go of the button. It may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour for all the Guide data to populate. You can continue to watch TV while the Guide data loads in the background.
If neither of these steps completely load all of the Guide data, please let us know! There may be something else going on that we need to investigate further.

Becky, i held down the GUIDE button on the remote for a long time. "Read" did not appear on screen. Your answer says "hold down the Guide button on the front of the receiver..." but my Contour has no Guide button on the DVR itself. The only button on the unit is the Power ON/OFF. I held down the remote Guide button.
My Guide has "No Data" for all listings starting Monday 5pm. I have unplugged the unit for 5 minutes and am waiting to see if the Guide repopulates. I would like a shortcut like your "hold down the Guide" so i don't have to shut the unit down. Am i doing something wrong?

"Contour" is not a DVR. It is what Cox renamed Trio as the program guide in some of its DVRs, including the Cisco 8642HDC, the 8742HDC, and the 9865HDC (Record 6 DVR.) Please give the model number for your DVR.

I have a Cisco 9865 HDC.
I thought that Contour was the name of the box. Domino, do you know of a shortcut similar to Becky's that will allow the DVR to be reset without unplugging the power cord?

No. To make things easier, my DVR is plugged into a 7-outlet strip with individual ON/OFF switches, like:

I just switch it off for a few minutes. Handy product to have.
