DVR Box constantly rebooting - help!!

I get home tonight, turn on my DVR box and it shows a picture for maybe 3 seconds and then reboots. It's been doing this for the last hour. When it reboots it shows - n u - and then boot in the window where the time usually is. I've tried unplugging it for 20 seconds an plugging it back in to no avail. Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks!!

I am still experiencing this problem. No issues all day yesterday but they've started up again today. 

My DVR box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD.

starsmiiles - Sorry you are still having issues. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Make sure nothing is sitting directly on top of the DVR box and it has at least 3 inches of breathing room on the top and sides. Sometimes boxes will reboot automatically once a certain temperature is reached to prevent overheating
  2. Check your power connections at the wall and the box to make sure everything is fastened securely
  3. Move the DVR box to a different room in your house. If the problem continues your DVR box is likely defective.
