Does Cox offer a descrambler for TV tuner cards?

Subject says it all! I'm using a TV tuner card on my computer, does Cox offer a descrambler for those kinds of things or do I have to actually get the box and run an output from the box to my tuner card?

Ahh great thank you! So I was looking at a Happauge CableCARD reader.

But one reviewer says the following:

"Following the instructions in the box, installation went smoothly. I did encounter a bit of a hiccup in getting my CableCard activated, but it is a known issue with activating CableCard equipment on Cox's network (short version - just ask the tech to send two "cold hits" to your box, about five to ten minutes apart - it seemed to work for me).

If your cableco uses SDV / tuning adapters, you may want to wait - Hauppauge is still working on getting tuning adapter support. However, I don't, so it was a non-issue for me."

Specifically I'm wondering about the SDV. Does Cox use a tuning adaptor? Or should the device work? the amazon link is here: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-WinTV-DCR-2650-Tuner-Cable/dp/B005FPT38A/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421008694&sr=1-3&keywords=cablecard+reader

Get the SiliconDust HDHomeRun PRIME 3-Tuner, HDHR3-CC  It is a much better device and better supported.

Yes you need a SDV Tuning Adapter, it is free with the CableCARD.

That is the purpose of a CableCARD and Tuning Adapter.

Hi Kamcknig,

Bryan is correct. You can get more info about the Tuning Adapter and CableCARD by going to any Cox Solutions Store or calling 888-952-3278. You can find the store closest to you by going to http://ww2.cox.com/aboutus/contact-us/cox-centers.cox.

Great, thanks for the links! I've heard of the HomeRun before. I shall check it out.
