DLNA and Contour Cisco Record 6

I had an old Motorola DVR using and Actiontec MoCA using PLEX, Universal Media Server, or ALllPlay I was able to stream video from my DVR to my Samsung Televisions, PC, and mobile devices. It was working great until I upgraded to the new Cisco Record 6. The installer stated that I no longer needed the MoCA and could go directly to the DVR. However, I have been unable to re-establish communication to my DLNA source on the DVR. Could you provide the necessary information on how to set this up and configure again?

Hi tinker,

Officially it only works with Playstation 3's at this time however you may be able to get it working with any device that supports DLNA/DTCP-IP.

If you have a host box close enough to your home network router/switch you dont' need to use an external MoCA bridge.

Trio STB Steps:

1.  Connect host box to router/switch using Ethernet cable.

2.  Enter Trio diagnostics by holding [EXIT] button on the remote until the green power lights begins to flash then press [DOWN ARROW][DOWN ARROW][2].

3.  Scroll down to home networking and ensure that your box now has an IP address valid on your home network (i.e. 192.168.x.x although this may vary depending on your setup).

Playstation 3:

1.  Ensure your Playstation 3 is connected to your home network and can access network features.

2.  Scroll to the Settings tab then down to Date and Time settings, ensure that Set Automatically is set to On.

3.  Back to Settings and select System Settings.

4.  Scroll down and select Enable DTCP-IP.

5.  Your host DVR box(s) should now be visible under the Video/Media menu by the last 6 digits of their MAC address.

6.  If you have multiple host boxes on your Trio network they will also be visible via the MoCA bridge of the box connected to your router/switch.

The procedure  " Enter Trio diagnostics by holding [EXIT] button on the remote until the green power lights begins to flash then press [DOWN ARROW][DOWN ARROW][2].? does not work on the new Record 6 Contour box..The display is all blue.

I have both lights lit on the network connector and I can see by looking at my router that the box has asked for an IP address.

Suggestions?

Ah, step 2 is indeed different now. The procedure to get into diagnostics is now to hold down the front power button until the power light blinks, then let it go and hit it one more time, then you should see the diagnostic screen come up and be able to scroll down to the networking page to verify that it's online.

The Record 6 has several entry's for Network. Network Status providing Network IP and RF Network IP. Neither are IP resolving inside my home. and Home Network. Home Network has 11 pages of information but pages 3-10 have none for anything with an IP

Tinker,
Have you tried to power cycle the box and router? I'm reaching out to our engineers and then I'll update you once I have more info.

Can you post pictures if possible? Is it DHCP by default? And are the diagnostics read only?
