I just have the cable line connected to my tv/ internet that suppliesanalog & digital channels to my digital ready tv, so whats different about the minibox ,why do I need it,whats it for, and do you need it to recieve internet also?

Hi mjonline,
Sounds like your area is making the digital transition. By Going All Digital, you help Cox to add more channels to the cable lineup. A digital channel takes less bandwidth to get to your home than a non-digital or analog channel. With this change, all TVs must have digital equipment - such as a mini box, CableCard, or Advanced TV Receiver if you want to continue to receive television service on them. This will not affect your internet service, therefore, you will not need a mini box for your internet. I hope this information helps.

The difference is that Cox is now encrypting the service, so you will need a mini-box to decrypt. Your digital-ready TV can't do that.
No, it's not required for internet, it has nothing to do with internet. You use a modem and router for internet.
