Cox going digital

I live in an apartment complex in 22401. I've heard neighbors talking about the letters they received, and several have already picked up their new digital " mini box". Upon inquiring with other neighbors, it seems that many of us have not received our letters, and are wondering if we've been over looked, or is Cox sending letters out in different batches? Is this decision mandatory, or are the customers given a choice as to the service that they will be paying for? I've been please with the way that I've been receiving service, and am concerned about extra fee's and an increase it what we are already paying monthly. If this is a decision that Cox has made for the benefit of those of us who are paying for our services, than I would hope that Cox would not increase the fee's at any time for their decision to change. I also would like to know when they are delivering the " mini box " to us, and I hope they plan on providing installation and set up for those of us who have no idea of how to set this new system up. When will this new system take effect, and when will the rest of customers be notified? I'm not thrilled about what I've thus read, and I too know the difference between the original Cox services verses Verizon. If Cox follows if Verizon's footsteps, then they will no longer be offering service " as the paying consumer requests", but rather keeping up with a company who's reputation is not one of individualized service! It's going to come down to which company's has the best gimmick line at that point.

Kimmie,

You just summed up the situation in one accurate statement.

Hello Kimmie,

I'd be happy to answer you questions about the mini boxes, do you have cable services with us currently? If so, are you using cable boxes?

Sorry Kimmie, COX has decided to charge $2.99 per box per month for every TV that is not currently hooked up to a COX receiver or DVR.  So if you have one TV you should be covered, but each additional TV that is hooded to your existing box will cost you extra for less than what you are paying for now.  Check out the postings on "the COX mini box scam" for more feedback.
