I just upgraded from basic to preferred service to enjoy HD programming and my contour app says I'm "out of home". I've already tried restarting my iPad and the Contour app and I've already assured that I'm on my own network. Nothing works. During installation there was some confusion as to which receiver was supposed to be installed and I ended up with a 2-channel DVR (Cisco). Is this the reason for my problem.? If so, why didn't anyone tell me this? I didn't upgrade service and more than double my monthly bill just to fall short of the requirements to enjoy all the features I thought I signed up for.

Hi ChannelSkater99,
Please let us know if you are still having an issue with the Countour App in order of us to get this resolved. Also, we have an App Forum at this time and I will be moving your post there.

I'm having the same issue and I've tried the suggestions mentioned. Anything else I can do?

stevenleggett, there are some basic requirements that must be met before you can use the Contour App.
To experience the full list of features within the Contour App you must have:
Preferred, Premier, Premier Plus, or Ultimate Internet service.
Cox Advanced TV or higher, and the Contour guide.
A Cox primary account holder User ID and Password.
A WiFi home network behind a DOCSIS modem, eMTA, or gateway.
An iPad2.0 or newer, or an iPad Mini running iOS 6.x or later.
You can read more here.

There are minimum requirements for this to work. Please see the info at Cox for that. Also, you must have "residential service". I just spent two hours on the phone with Cox speaking with 5 different people (most didn't know what they were talking about) to understand why I had this out of home mode. I have business internet and residential cable. Contour will not work with this mix. Cox business does not support Contour. So you have to update your cable service and your internet service and these must be residential. Hope this helps.

This is happening to me too, and I already read all the other forums and tried everything. I'm sitting on my couch directly I front of my cable and wifi receivers. And nothing.

Hi Tanieeezy,
I apologize for the delayed response. If you verified the requirements that Colleen gave and still having issues, I suggest checking the User Id and Password on our website. We want to make sure you are using the Primary User ID. One way to verify is to log into your account at www.cox.net and click on Manage Account.
If you know the user id is the primary but the yellow Alert box reads:
" Alerts & Notifications For your security, only Primary Account Holders have access to features such as past billing statements, recent account activity, and bill delivery options. To learn more about your level of online access see Cox.com User ID Account Types." we will need to get this resolved on our side. I suggest emailing me at cox.help@cox.com to get to the bottom of this.
