Contour Receiver does not record six shows
Hello, We have a Cisco Explorer 8642HDC DVR (on our Cox bill is lists is as a Contour Receiver) but we can only record 2 shows at once. Should I ask someone to come out and look at it or take it in to a cox service store and get a new one? If we get a new one will it have to be activated or should it work once we plug it in? Thanks for your help.

Contour receivers actually come in Record 2 and Record 6 variants. Note that there is an additional monthly cost for the Record 6 equipment and professional installation is required at this time. The best way to upgrade would be to speak to our sales team to discuss the options that are available.

The 8642HDC is only a 2-tuner DVR. The 9865HDC is the 6-tuner DVR. They both use the Contour IPG.
