Can a laptop or cellphone connect to netflix? Can the TV/DVD connect to other apps? Crackle? Hulu?
What router/gateway do you have?
Last, what TV/DVD player do you have? Have you tried these steps?

Not sure I understand what is happening ... are you trying to use your Cox password to signon to Netflix? What "password for Cox" are you using and where are you entering it? In addition, if you still need help, please answer Tecknowhelp's questions so we have some idea how to help.

I had the same issue. I manually input the IP address information.
Connected to Netflix but now sound cuts out once and a while.
I hope this helps

That sounds like it could be a DNS relay issue then. Try keeping the IP DHCP but the DNS static 8.8.8.8. Having a static IP without DHCP reservations can cause IP conflicts.
