Connect Non HD cable box to a samsung smart TV
I bought a samsung smart tv and want to use the samsung remote to run the cable. I do not have a cable box that is HD and it does not have HDMI port on the box. How do I set this up to use the samsung remote?

What connections on the back of your cable box look like connections on the back of your TV? For example, matching RCA connectors for Composite Video (yellow)...as well as matching audio inputs (red and white). Or you could connect your cable box and TV with a coaxial cable. Then you'd have to assign your cable box to a channel on your TV, such as channel 3 or 4. That's how you could connect them.
Most supplied remotes with TV have basic capabilities. Your supplied remote would have to be a "learning" remote to learn the frequencies of your cable remote. For example, point the remotes IR sensor-to-IR sensor, press a button on your cable remote and then then press a button on your TV remote to assign (learn) that frequency (function). With all the useful buttons on your cable remote, such as launching the cable guide, CC, Search, Info, On Demand, that process would seem exhausting. I doubt your supplied remote has learning capabilities but check your users guide.
