Chrome remote desktop
Since switching to Cox from CL, my chrome remote desktop doesn't work - anyone else see this issue?

We would not be able to troubleshoot the program specifically. Do you have any issues with your internet connection bringing up webpages or using any other applications?

No, everything else is working fine. I'm still using the same wireless router (Airport Extreme) as when I had Century Link, it's just that I can't hit my home iMac using Goggle Chrome Remote Desktop. I assume this is some sort of port blocking issue within Cox.

I suspect this more likely related to the nature of how one Internet provider's connection works compared to another. If you were using DSL you connected your Airport router to their router to get online. With us you connect your router directly to the Internet connection which eliminates one less point of port forwarding.

Just to be sure, twinfeats, you didn't install a gateway from Cox. You are using a modem only to connect to your Airport Extreme? May be a basic question but had to ask. It does sound like a port forwarding issue. If you have a gateway, even with dhcp turned off in one device, the gateway may not be setup to forward the RDP port. AFAIK, Cox doesn't block RDP port 3390. Here is a list of ports Cox blocks: http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=cacf82f0-6407-11df-ccef-000000000000

No, no gateway from Cox - we did the installation ourselves with our own modem we bought as well.
