I have been experiencing a lot of trouble over the past few months with numerous chanels saying they are Temporarily Off the Air and to Check Back Later. This happens night after night on my HD TV. It is not only HD channels, but also the corresponding chanels in the 300 series as well. However, this is not the case with the 300 series on my Non-HD receiver box in another room. I have called Cox a number of times, have had my box rebooted, I have checked the Parental Controls and I have had a Technician out and he replaced my HD box with a brand new upgraded model, upgraded my router and splitter. It was supposed to fix the problem, but I still have missing chanels night every night. I am in Arizona and I see numerous people are having the same problems all over. What is the issue and why can't you fix it??

I see a work order was setup to bring a box however I wonder if the outlet itself was ever checked. I would try disconnecting power to the box for two minutes and reconnecting to see if that helps. It would also be helpful to ensure all the connections are still hand tight. If the issues persist it may be time to arrange for a technician to come take another look. There's the possibility the box wasn't the issue in the first place.

I have to say that when the Technician was here, he checked everything because he knew the issues we were having. It does not make any sense that it is a connection, when only certain channels are affected and they are the same channels every night. Also, if numerous other people are having the same issues as I see in the Support Forum, I don't see how it can be our power connection.

Signal issues can definitely affect only certain frequencies on a cable line. It simply depends on the nature of the issue. At any given time it's not uncommon for a number of users to report common symptoms that are the result of different and/or unrelated issues. Our technicians are definitely human and can sometimes miss things. Troubleshooting is often a process of elimination and excercise in trial and error when the cause of the problem isn't readily obvious.
