Could we get some timing on getting the ability to sort DVR recordings?
This is a basic feature that has been on every DVR I have ever owned going back to my first Tivo back in 2002.
I am a new customer, and have seen multiple posts (going back two years), on this very basic request. I am willing to wait if the issue will be addressed soon, otherwise the system is really not worth it to me, and I will move on to something else.
Please advise on timing.

Typically changes aren't announced far in advance, so we usually can't provide dates for changes prior to them happening. I'd like to share your feedback with our video team. In what ways would you like to be able to sort your DVR list?

Typically all DVR's allow you to sort the list alphabetically by show title, with an option to also sort chronologically.

Put me down as another DVR6 customer who wants this powerful DVR to have some of the basic DVR features offered for a decade or more, or at least some of the same features offered on Cox's non-Contour enabled DVRs.
Something like changing the software to sort by alpha vs timecode is SO EASY to do. It concerns me that the Contour software from Cox/Cisco is so horribly flawed and its interface so limited that they can't find a way to offer this choice to their customers in over TWO YEARS.

It only took Cox about ten years to map the CC button on the remote to activate Closed Captions (rather than forcing me to take 15 steps or so tripping through the Settings menu to turn CC on/off). I imagine it will be about 2030 before Cox will provide the ability to sort alphabetically by title!
Sometimes I wish for the bad old days of Passport, when Cox actually had some decent features (like Alphabetical Sort) that Contour can't seem to provide. And don't get me going on the uselessness of Browse for Related Episodes when you want to find occurances of the same movie you have previously recorded on HBO or Showtime ...

Until a week ago my Contour did just that and suddenly no more; now everything is listed chronologically. I agree that sort by titles with sub-sections was much easier. Why the change and why no options to sort by alpha, etc.?

Since getting Contour a year ago I was able to sort recorded programs by name with sub-sections of the same title listed chronologically. Then suddenly this disappeared and everything is a long chronological list which makes finding an individual recording more difficult to find. Why the unannounced change and why can't I have an option for displaying recordings. I want to go back to what I had!

When in the "DVR List", press the BLUE "B" (square) button. This will group your selections.

--- Domino's reply was NOT THE ANSWER ---
We don't want to just group or ungroup the DVR List. We want to sort alphabetically, not chronologically as is currently provided. More specifically, we want to be able to sort with either method. Grouping or ungrouping then can be applied to either sort. In other words, exactly what Passport provided!
I read that some other posters wrote that they had the alpha sort capability recently. I have never seen it during almost 2 years of Contour. Maybe the difference was market-specific (different software versions)?

FYI
I am not aware that the issue has been resolved. The post that is marked as the solution clearly states that the feature used to exist, but confirms that it is NO Longer available.
For me personally, the solution was purchasing my own DVR, which has the features and functionality I have come to expect with all other DVRs I've owned. (Maybe this post should be marked as the answer).
I am disappointed in the fact that I wasn't able to get an estimate on when the issue would be resolved. To me this tells me that the red tape between problem identification to coding a solution must be so great, that it wasn't likely to happen anytime soon.

My reply was to Miko's question of why the programs were no longer grouped together and how they could be grouped together. "Since getting Contour a year ago I was able to sort recorded programs by name with sub-sections of the same title listed chronologically. Then suddenly this disappeared and everything is a long chronological list which makes finding an individual recording more difficult to find. Why the unannounced change and why can't I have an option for displaying recordings. I want to go back to what I had!" I made this clear by quoting his question back. The "The Answer" notation was not made by me. Perhaps Chevy96d was responding to the answer to his question, "...when will alphabetized sorting be available?", which is - in a future update (no date.) Please read more carefully.
