Can I record a Video on Demand program for later use?

I don't think you can, atleast through the use of the DVR software. A VCR/DVD-R/or PVR might work though. 

If its on a premium on-demand like HBO, you can also try their website, like HBO Go. Then just use a screen capture program. No idea if its within terms of service, but should work.

Thanks for your reply. I'm a former DirecTV user, and they allow their subscribers to record VOD programs with an expiration date. It makes it easier especially when you want to download episodes from series with many episodes. It's also quicker than using the combersome "search" each time you want to get to that episode.

I wonder DirectTV has different agreements with the content providers because of the way VOD works with Satellite. It isn't really VOD how you typically think of it via cable, and goes over the ethernet connection and requires a secondary internet connection to use. This is kind of similar to the way Contour works.
