CableCard Activation

I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV DCR-2650 along w/ Windows Media Center. I originally got the Motorola CableCard (M-Type) about a week ago, and successfully installed and paired the card.

Things went south when I pulled the card out and put it into another device (Mitsubishi DLP TV) to discover the TV only supports S-Type Cards. While I didn't expect the card to work in the TV (since it would have to be re-paired), what I didn't count on was the Host ID having changed when I returned it back into the Hauppauge.

The Hauppauge diagnostic information, and Windows Media Center confirmed this was the case with the following message:

"In order to start cable service
for this device, please contact
your cable provider

CableCARD ID: 000-083-836-134-3
Host ID: 064-537-948-045-4
Data: 067-166-858-77

UnitAddress: 000-00838-36134-099
Card S/N: MA1250EVI123
eCM MAC: Unknown
Host MAC: 00:0D:FE:7E:0D:F0
Host Type: One-way"

So I called back into the activation line, explained what happened and they attempted to pair the card again with the new ID and Data information.

After about 45 minutes of back and forth with the phone rep, the does not seem to pair. While they insist "everything's fine on their end", the Activation message continues to pop up, and the following information is outlined in the Hauppauge diagnostic page(s):

Card Authentication success
Card OOB Lock success
Card Activation none
19700101-00:00:01 CableCARD: M-CARD inserted
19700101-00:00:04 CableCARD: Motorola card (0000:0625)
19700101-00:00:04 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication in progress
19700101-00:00:04 CableCARD: authentication status: authentication success, activation needed
Nothing short of a handful of local channels is working. They've scheduled a tech to come out to look at "Line / Signal issues" while I insisted that there doesn't seem to be any type of signal problem and this was working previously.

Interestingly... in the last few minutes (about 2 hours since support call) all channels are now working except HBO / Cinemax (show up a unsubscribed).

If you're getting the majority of your channels, then you're probably mostly done, except for one detail.

Different CableCard-based platforms are going to throw out different errors for it, but I think the main problem is that you're missing a tuning adapter. Omaha just went to Switched Digital on 4/9.
