automatic password

When I use Firefox as my browser, it automatically remembers & fills in my password for my email account.  However, when I use Safari, I have to type my password in each time (although it does remember my user ID).  Why is that, & can I set Safari up to automatically remember my password so I don't have to type it in manually each time I log in to Safari email?

Hi AZ,

These steps should help: 

  1. Open up your Safari Web browser and choose 'Preferences' from the Safari pull down menu. 
  2. Click on the heading 'AutoFill.' 
  3. Click on the box next to 'User Names and Passwords.' 
  4. Close the 'Preferences' window. 
  5. Go to a Web page that requires a password and enter in your chosen password. 
  6. Safari will then ask if you would like to save this password. 
  7. Click on the button 'Yes' in order to save the password. 
  8. Complete steps 1 and 2 for any other passwords that you want Safari to remember.
