Adding Separate Phone Line

I am transferring a separate phone line to an existing cox account via a roomate account. Do I need to install a 3-way cable splitter - cable in and out to (1) phone modem 1 (2) phone modem 2 and (3) cable tv box?

your better off calling in cox techs don't usually do account related questions via the forums.

Normally one phone modem can handle 2 lines per device if needed (as long as both numbers are on the same account). But if you were trying to have the 2nd modem in a different room then you would need to have a 3 way splitter.
