8820 moto remote

I can get the remote to turn the tv off and on, turn the volume up and down and mute the tv, but I cant change channels or anything else.  I am thinking I am a real idiot

Do you have a Motorola cable box or Cisco? If Cisco, your remote is probably in the wrong mode.

If you have a Cisco cable box:

  1. Press and release theCable button
  2. Hold the Swap and A buttons at the same time until the Cable button blinks twice.

Note: The Swap button is at the bottom of the remote in the Picture–in–Picture section.

  1. Release both buttons.
