Volume rises suddenly after TV has been on for five minutes or so

How do I turn off the annoying volume rise after the TV has been on for a while?  It come out of nowhere.  Aggravating!  I want the volume to stay put.  Always.

Hi Carlosaro, this is not a normal occurrence. Does this occur only on certain channels? Does this happen while watching On Demand or live TV? Do you have a soundbar? -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator

Live TV, no sound bar.  Maybe it's a built in feature on my Sharp Smart TV?

Does the volume increase during commercials? It's quite possible this could be related to your television. To be safe, I'd recommend reprogramming your Contour 2 remote to the television, http://bit.ly/2Yo0B1t. If the issue persists, you are welcome to exchange the remote at your local Cox Solutions store, free of charge. If that doesn't resolve the issue ultimately, then I would suggest contacting the manufacturer directly. Their contact information is listed below:

We  have this same problem and it's most aggravating.  Many years ago, increased commercials volume was outlawed and now it has crept back.  This is not a personal television problem.  Check it out.

Be sure to verify that the Audio Output settings within the cable box match the capabilities of your TV and the cables connecting your equipment. For instructions on accessing the audio settings on each specific cable box, please visit www.cox.com/.../audio-settings.html. - Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

The volume, after a few minutes of being on, just increases as if it were giving me a few minutes to settle in.  It has nothing to do with commercials or anything.  It's slightly annoying but I've learned to deal with it.  I don't know the model number of the tv and it's mounted on the wall so a pain to get behind it to see the numbers.  I will check the tv settings and as another suggested reset Contour.  Although, I believe it's a tv setting the more I think about it.  Thank you for your replies.
