Pairing remote

Received a new Contour box after old one bit the dust.  Trying to pair my remote, but it's stuck at a screen that says "Remote not working" Click CONTINUE. If the remote is not working, how to I click CONTINUE?  I've pressed the setup until red turns to green, pressed the Contour menu until green flashes, but am stuck on the same Click to Continue page.
