Netflix and password sharing when using the Netflix app on a cable box?
If I am watching Netflix using my cable box netflix app how does that work with Netflix
trying to stop password sharing? When using the app in the cable box what IP address
is Netflix going to recognize me as? If later I watch netflix on a Firestick or roku
the IP will be my home internet IP but in the case of the the cable box
and what I believe is not internet how does that
all work out with Netflix and their advertising cracking down on password sharing?

Cable-boxes do get an IP address on the...lack of a gooder term...the TV Distribution Network. Because you're using an app, you're on the Internet. I'm not sure how Cox represents your cable-box on the Internet (proxy?), but Netflix recognizes your login on the cable-box.

Netflix used to show the IP of the connected devices as shown here. However when I log in now, it no longer shows the IP. Now it just shows this. I find this odd since they have cracked down on password sharing, you would think they would make it easier to see what IPs are connecting. My suggestion is to try it and see if it works.

Your cable box either has a modem inside, or uses your modem on a different channel to have internet access. I wouldn't worry about it though, I use it on a firestick, my phone on cellular, and at my daughter's place on her wifi, without issue. That's 3 differing IP addresses.
